‘…As a life-long XTC head and someone who has always regarded Andy Partridge (like the author) as one of the greatest song writing geniuses ever, I was intrigued by this book as a quick romp through the author's favourite AP songs. Overall the choices are well chosen, with only a handful that I would change/replace. Glaring omissions for me for example would be I Can't Own Her, (all the more so because AP had to be persuaded to take it past the demo stage - thankfully he did!) And 'Millions' from Drums... which has always enthralled me. However, I suppose that no two AP fans would come up with precisely the same list. I could also have done without the crass anti-Brexit comments, which, given they were included with reference to songs written a long time ago, where wholly decontextualized and inappropriate, regardless of which side of the debate you're on. Still, a good little read, and Tony obviously knows the Partridge oeuvre inside out (as I do.)…’
